After the successful planning and
execution of the 2011 Easter Triduum provided by Musica Sacra. A new choir is
established by Sr Sesilia Ioane CSN, Sister Superior of Nazareth House at
Wynnum in Queensland, to continue to foster, on a more permanent basis, the
beautiful musical tradition of the Catholic Church.
Membership of this choir include the Sisters of Nazareth, residents of Nazareth House as well as parishoners and the general public. This choir will rehearse once or twice a month and will sing at the 9:30am Mass on the third and fourth Sundays of each month, some of the singers may wish to return for the occassional Benedictions at 3pm. Nazarene Chorale will also sing at important Feast Days and Solemnities such as Christmas and Easter.
This choir will sing repertoire from Gregorian Chant to modern hymns that are suitable for liturgical use. Fun secular repertoire will also be included for non-liturgical events.
Nazareth House and The Sisters of Nazareth
Nazareth house provides a Catholic service based on
Christian principles devoted to upholding the dignity of human
life. Our belief in the sacredness of life ensures the use of
natural means to protect that life. We adhere to the philosophy
of Catholic nursing care. We maintain and where necessary,
improve the quality of life to ensure that our residents are
able to live and die with true dignity.
We, the Sisters of Nazareth, founded by Victoire Larmenier and
inspired by the spirit of the Gospel, are committed to the
Mission entrusted to us by the Church. Together with the people
of God, we aim to present the love of Christ to all, especially
the poor, through the ministry of care and education. We value
and respect the dignity of each human being, based on the words
of Christ: “you did it to me” (Matt 25:40)
